The peer process is where the journal provides an assessment of the quality of a manuscript before it is published, reviewed by relevant experts in their field to review and provide feedback on manuscripts received by the editor. This process aims to help editors decide whether manuscripts are eligible for publication by the journal Symbolicus.
This process actually functions as a quality control mechanism, where experts who are competent in their field evaluate the manuscript with the aim of ensuring the quality of the published manuscript. Peer-reviewer acts as a giver of recommendations. While the decision whether a manuscript will be accepted (with or without revision) and rejected for publication is the decision-making authority of the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, and/or the Editorial Board of the journal.
The key points in this process are:
1) Manuscripts submitted will first pass an initial selection by the editorial team.
2) Successful manuscripts will be sent to a minimum of two peer reviewers for review.
3) Peer reviewers will independently make recommendations to the journal editor, whether the manuscript is accepted (with or without revision) or rejected.
4) The journal editor will consider recommendations from peer reviewers and will decide whether the manuscript will be accepted or rejected.
5) The decision to accept and reject an article manuscript rests entirely with the Editorial Board.
